A custom home is one of a kind and personal with your wishes, desires and needs incorporated. We have experience and capabilities with the following and more:
HOMES FOR EMPTY NESTERS AND SMALLER HOMES: We have completed many homes for empty nesters that are scaling down in home size and have different needs as they move into a new time of their life. We love working with these clients in planning their homes around their individual needs. Please look at the single story homes with guest rooms located on a different level. (Link to empty nester appropriate homes.)
HOME THEATERS: We have completed many home theaters in new homes and also added later in lower level build outs. There are important considerations in planning a home theater such as where it is located, budget, size and shape, lighting, seating, acoustics, equipment location and needs, level of automation as well as architecture and décor.
HOME AUTOMATION: Home automation and home technology are constantly evolving, changing and improving. We are constantly trying to stay well informed about this important aspect of ones home. Home automation is implemented individually and uniquely according to one’s needs, wants and budget. The key areas of home automation are:
STRUCTURED WIRING: New construction is the time to plan for structured wiring and we find that most people desire structured wiring to be a part of their home. Structured wiring is essentially a bundle of cables brought back to a central location. It is much neater and more organized.
LIGHTING AUTOMATION: Lighting automation is very individual and needs to be explored and talked about early in the building process. We have had experience in incorporating numerous brands and levels of lighting automation.
HOME SECURITY: Home security is a popular feature of a custom home. It is individual and may include video surveillance, motion detectors, glass breaks and monitoring.
CENTRAL VACUUM: Another popular feature of custom home building is the installation of a central vacuum system. This feature is added during the mechanical rough phase.
CUSTOM WINE CELLARS: We have incorporated wine cellars in new homes and also added them to existing homes. Wine cellars are an open canvas limited only to the space, budget and your ideas. A custom wine cellar may be temperature controlled and we have experience integrating the chiller in the most aesthetic and logical way possible. We take into consideration the mechanical needs of the chiller component and also the architecture and décor of the wine cellar.
CUSTOM REC ROOMS: We have constructed many custom recreation rooms both during new construction and also as a home remodeling project. Custom Rec Rooms are limited only to the home owner’s ideas and needs. We have incorporated exercise areas, audio visual areas, games and recreation areas, golf practice areas, full bars as well as wet bars and food preparation and entertaining areas. We work with you on the space planning, décor and material selection for their appropriate use. We have completed bars that feature soda dispensers and beer tapers, and antique bar components from historic local taverns of the past.
SWIMMING POOLS AND HOME SPAS: Many custom homes and existing home remodeling projects incorporate a home spa. We have experience in planning them properly and also in the planning and orchestrating the necessary mechanicals for proper ventilation and temperature control. Many times swimming pools become a part of landscaping and they may also be a future project but if we know ahead of time we can assure that the necessary mechanicals are available.
HOME GYMS AND BASKETBALL COURTS: Home gyms, sport courts and basketball courts are all available and only limited to the available space and budget.
GOLF ROOMS: Since golf is such a popular lifelong sport, many custom home clients desire a way to keep at the top of their game. We have completed many golf projects from custom golf pits for swing practice and putting greens all the way to golf rooms with golf simulation components.
CRAFT AND SEWING ROOMS: Hobbies are a big part of many families and thus we have incorporated numerous sewing and quilting rooms and craft and scrap booking rooms. Having a degree in home economics, Linda Moore is well versed in planning these rooms and enjoys working with clients to determine their needs. The rooms we’ve designed have incorporated specialized storage, sitting spaces for specialized machines, areas for gift wrapping and storage of wrapping supplies, flannel design boards and cutting areas that are the proper height.
